Three Area Businesses Find a New Home at 400 Spruce

In the past few months, the 400 Spruce Building, at the corner of the Wyoming Avenue and Spruce Street in Scranton, has given a new home to some of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s most respected regional merchants.

The building has been home to the Semian Real Estate Group for the past five years. This spring, Nimble Hill Winery of Tunkhannock, Cangiano's Italian Specialties of Clarks Summit and Chocolate Creations of Peckville began sharing space with Semian in the building and started offering their locally renowned products to the Scranton area.

“I thought this was a great combo,” said Nimble Hill owner Gary Toczko. “It’s a beautiful store.”

Nimble Hill has produced more than three thousand gallons of wine since it opened in 2007. And at 400 Spruce, Nimble Hill features a full selection of its award-winning wines along with a tasting area and wine racks.

Cangiano's Italian Specialties offers a wide variety of fresh-cooked Italian specialty foods, including pastries, gourmet coffees and a lunch menu of sandwiches, salads and soups.

At Chocolate Creations, you will find gourmet Swiss chocolates custom-made in thousands of shapes with specialty molds. Chocolate Creations specializes in seasonal and holiday designs, as well as delicious custom designs perfect for any special occasion.

Each business has its own space but a relaxed common area between them, with couches, ottomans and chairs, encourages visitors to browse selections at each store.

Their new location in the heart of the downtown has benefited all three businesses. “It’s been perfect for Cangiano’s,” Toczko said, noting the lunch crowds that gather every day to pick up a fresh sandwich or salad. During events like First Friday Scranton art walks, downtown visitors can’t resist stopping in to 400 Spruce.  “On First Friday we do fantastic,” said Toczko. “We need extra people working.”
