The Banshee: An Authentic Irish Pub Close to Home
From the food and drink selection to the décor and entertainment, The Banshee, 322 Penn Ave., Scranton, brings the look and feel of an authentic Irish pub to Downtown Scranton.
Just over a year ago, Amy and Nick Shursky of Factoryville took ownership of the restaurant. The couple, since that time, has worked to retain the charm and tradition that has made the Banshee one of Scranton’s most popular Irish pubs while incorporating some modern touches and renovations.
Locally renown as a great venue for live music, the Banshee has played host to some of the area’s biggest bands along with national recording artists. Live entertainment is featured nearly every Friday and Saturday night. The Banshee is also a favorite destination for parade-goers during Scranton’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The Banshee's menu features an assortment of traditional Irish fare, including shepherd's pie, fish and chips and hearty soups and sandwiches. On Sunday mornings, they offer a unique Irish breakfast. And the pub’s drink menu includes a variety of draught and bottled beers, as well as Irish whiskeys.
If you’ve never visited the Banshee or you’re just looking for a reason to return, POWER! Scranton will host its “Give Thanks” Thanksgiving Eve Networking and Economic Development event at the Banshee on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Come experience the Banshee with Northeastern Pennsylvania’s premier young professional organization. |
