“Pick Your Pamper Night” with POWER! Scranton

Indulge yourself with POWER! Scranton during our “Pick Your Pamper Night” on Thursday, October 8, from 5:30-7 p.m.

Choose between Lavish Body + Home, 600 Linden Street, Scranton, offering free makeup and skin consultations with guest speakers Jonathan Chernes and Matt Drace or the Cigar Bar, 544 Spruce Street, Scranton, offering a Cigars 101 Class where you can find out all about cigars. Really, why not try both.

Afterward, the event moves to Dionysus Downtown at 7 p.m. Lavish and the Cigar Bar will both provide refreshments.

Scranton Metro Shows Continued Economic Growth

The Scranton Times reported recently on findings by the Brookings Institution that the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metropolitan area ranks in the top 40, economically, among the nation’s 100 largest metro areas.

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metro ranked 22nd nationwide in the first quarter report which measures employment, economic activity, housing prices and home foreclosures. While Brookings eliminated ordered rankings for the second-quarter report, the Greater Scranton metro placed in the top 40.

According to the Times, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metro continued its strong showing in the housing sector into the second quarter, ranking seventh in bank-owned properties and 15th in annual housing-price growth. Our region also placed 34th in gross metropolitan product which measures the value of goods and services produced.

Tour the Renaissance at 500 Project with POWER!

Our next POWER! Scranton Outage will give you a chance to tour the Renaissance at 500 project that has changed the face of the 500 block of Lackawanna Avenue in Scranton.

The Outage is scheduled for Monday, September 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at P.J.’s Pub inside the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center with tours of Renaissance at 500 between 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Don Rinaldi of Scranton Life Realty will be the guest speaker with entertainment provided by Rich Jenkins.
