First Annual Chef Schiavone Bocce and BBQ
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009Join us for a day of family fun at Nay Aug Park on Sunday, June 28, for the first annual Chef Schiavone Bocce Tournament and Barbecue to benefit the Butch Schimelfenig Pavilion.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the barbecue begins at noon. To participate in the bocce tournament, there is a $100 entry fee per team (made up of one captain and three additional players).
You can also stop by just to enjoy the barbecue. Cost of the barbecue lunch is $10. Lunch is included in the entry fee for bocce players.

Legendary Rooftop Party Returns – Next Friday!
Friday, May 29th, 2009POWER! Scranton – is pleased to announce that we’re “Raising the Roof” once again here in the Electric City! That’s right, the countdown is on for next Friday (June 5th) at 5:30 PM when the Legendary Rooftop Party returns to the top floor of the Casey Parking Garage at the corner of Lackawanna & Adams Ave. Along with First Friday and the kick-off for Race Weekend at Pocono – it’s going to be a GREAT NIGHT to be in Downtown Scranton!
A special reminder for POWER! members: Be sure to drop by the Albright Memorial Library (corner of N. Washington & Vine) by Thursday, June 4th to buy your tickets in advance. Not only will you save $5 ($15 advance – $20 at the door) – but it will also be your “Fast Pass” to the front of the line when you get to the party. Buy 10 or 20 – it’ll be a great way to get your whole office fired up for the party. Don’t miss this amazing event – see you on the rooftop!

(Professionals Organized and Working to Enrich the Region) Scranton recently hosted its May outage at the Colonnade where honorary guest speaker Paul Blackledge shared with the group of group of young and young thinking professionals how his dream of a boutique hotel and event location became a reality in Scranton. POWER! members enjoyed an evening full of networking, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and fun. Save the date for the next POWER! POWER! (Professionals Organized and Working to Enrich the Region) Scranton recently hosted and event in conjunction with Leadership Lackawanna to present business and networking opportunities for the leaders in Scranton and the surrounding area. At the event over 100 young and young thinking professionals gathered for networking opportunities. Guest speakers, Robert Klein and Lynn Volk shared their experiences in Leadership Lackawanna, and why POWER! Scranton and Leadership Lackawanna are important groups to have available to business professionals seeking leadership opportunities.
