Bringing it Home: DxDempsey Architecture Serving the Scranton Area

Since the start of the company over eight years ago, DxDempsey Architecture has always felt at home in Scranton.

In 2003, Michele Dempsey moved back to Scranton to oversee construction of her parents’ home. The start of DxDempsey is rooted in the fact that Michele fell back in love with the place she grew up and wanted to be a part of what she saw as the revitalization of the area. Starting with just one person, DxDempsey has grown to a six-person, full-service architecture and design firm working on a variety of commercial, retail, and single family homes.

Even the ever-expanding portfolio of retail stores designed by DxDempsey and located in various casinos throughout Las Vegas started with a local connection that led to its first retail projects at Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs.

The company’s commitment to home doesn't stop there. This year, DxDempsey launched a new business called Xform that is dedicated to transforming existing houses into simple, open and environmentally-friendly homes. Xform is a one-stop shop to guide homebuyers from real estate selection through renovation.

It truly is the sense of home and community that is at the heart of both companies. “We love our area and see as much hidden potential as we are able to see in a home that others may overlook,” McLain said. DxDempsey and Xform are excited to continue in their efforts to rediscover Scranton.
