Electric Theatre Company
The Electric Theatre Company (ETC), formerly The Northeast Theatre, is a professional theatre
company offering dynamic live productions of both new
and established work year-round at its performance
space located on the second floor of the old Hotel
Jermyn, 326 Spruce St., Scranton.
ETC is committed to forging creative bonds between
Scranton-area artists and other artists from around
the country by providing opportunities for them to
work creatively together and to learn from one another
in classes and seminars.

ETC’s
educational and outreach efforts include: The Portal
Project, an educational and professional collaboration
between ETC and Marywood University designed to enhance
the acting program at Marywood; The Conservatory, a
19-week residency designed for early and mid career
actors with a serious interest in entering or advancing
in the profession; and In Bocca al Lupo, a study abroad
program that blends the ancient theatrical traditions
of commedia dell'arte, and Italian language and culture,
in a vibrant four-week intensive that culminates in
two improvised performances, in Italian.
ETC plays a significant role in the revitalization of
Downtown Scranton by offering frequent and regular performances
in theatre and music, by reflecting local heritage through
its choice of plays, and by encouraging pride in the
area’s identity.
