“I moved back to Scranton, with a few small accomplishments under my belt and settled in to ‘making something of myself.’

Not only have I started a (growing) name for myself through my art locally, but I've really been able to see the benefits of our special area. Our cost of living is ‘livable.’ Our close proximity to major cities is undeniable. The whole world is under two hours in any direction. Having lived away for so long, I guess I was looking for too many answers with the perception that it's better someplace else. Sure, city living has advantages, but it also has more people, expenses, buildings, etc... We have the same stuff - just on a smaller scale. When I was living away, I used to give more credit to my friends who actually stayed in NEPA and truly made something of themselves, with a life and time to spend with family. My corporate days consisted of 16 to18 hour days, literally. And now look what ‘The Office’ has done for our growing city.

All in all, I'm glad to be back. Life is what you make of it; whether you're in Scranton or Los Angeles. Problems are the same whether you're in Scranton or Miami - maybe not snow, though. When living away and looking from afar back to dear, old Scranton, I'd see a city of low self-esteem but with the most gigantic civic pride. I think it's time to believe in ourselves– it works.  With ambition you can do anything and by making dreams reality, there's no need to dream.”
