“Our business brought me back to the area. I lived in Manhattan for nine years and upon graduation had the opportunity to do a lot of work in my field, costume design. Since 1990, my parents operated our business in Chinchilla.
While in college, I assisted my mother with the buying and during my last two years in the city freelance work afforded me the opportunity to spend time both in New York and at home. I was able to get a feel for our business and decided it was where I wanted to focus my energy.
Exciting opportunities have been offered to me in Northeastern Pennsylvania that would not have been available in Manhattan. My parents have been extremely active in this community and that has certainly opened doors but my hard work and commitment to the area have been recognized as well.
Being respected in this community is not about who you are but about what you bring to the table. While NEPA is an area that is ensconced in tradition, there is an air of open-mindedness that encourages new people to get involved.
Nada & Co.’s relocation to downtown Scranton has solidified my commitment to the revitalization of the area. The groundswell of support we've seen over the last year has humbled me. As a child my parents instilled in me a sense of responsibility to my community. I am proud of the difference we make both personally and professionally and have never felt that it was more necessary or appreciated.”
